Workwear For Care Homes, Nurseries And Clinics: What To Put Your Team In

Smart, comfortable and easy to wash: what to wear, what it costs, and how to get your logo on it.

⏱ 48-Hour Turnaround 🧵 Logos Done In-House 🚚 + Postage & Packaging

In a care home, nursery, dental surgery or vet practice, the people you look after, and their families, notice your team before anything else. A clean, matching uniform with your logo on it shows who is who and that you take the job seriously. It also has to be comfortable over a long shift and easy to wash, because it will be washed a lot.

Here's how we'd kit out a team, what it costs and how to get your logo on it. Everything below is on our Care & Health page, where you can pick colours and see prices.

Tunics And Polos For The Floor

We stock three ladies' tunic styles in Aprons & Tunics, all a 185gsm, 100% polyester plain weave. Tunic 1 (Mika) comes in black, in sizes XXS to 5XL. Tunic 2 (Orchid) and Tunic 3 (Blossom) come in UK sizes 6 to 24, each in seven colours including navy, purple, turquoise and white.

Our tunics are ladies' styles, so for the rest of the team a polo is the easy choice. The fitted polo is a 220gsm cotton-polyester piqué in 13 colours, including black, navy, white, purple and fuchsia, in sizes XS to 4XL. Our standard workwear polo comes in black, bottle green and navy, in sizes XS to 6XL. For warmer days or a lighter option, our 180gsm cotton T-shirt comes in 25 colours. One idea: give each role its own colour, so residents, children and families can tell at a glance who to ask.

Warm Layers For Corridors And Outdoor Breaks

A sweatshirt (there's a ladies' fit too) or a hoodie is a comfortable warm layer, and a fleece is the smart option for carers visiting clients at home or staff supervising outdoor play. Fleeces are always embroidered, never vinyl or DTF, because that's what suits the fabric. A beanie finishes the look for winter walks.

Two Ready-Made Care Kits

If you'd rather not pick item by item, our Care & Health page has two kits made from the same garments. Prices include a logo on the front of every item, and you choose colours and sizes when you order.

Care Home Starter Kit: 3 tunics, 2 T-shirts and a micro fleece for £124.53 (£112.08 with a trade account).

Community Carer Kit: 3 fitted polos, a fleece and a beanie for £62.31 (£56.08 with a trade account).

Embroidered Or Printed?

For a small logo on the chest of a polo or fleece, embroidery gives a smart, lasting finish. Vinyl suits a bold name or slogan and keeps costs down. Our guide to embroidery, vinyl or DTF explains the difference. Tunics are a thin polyester fabric, so send us your logo and we'll tell you which method suits it best. If you're not sure your logo file is ready, our post on getting your logo ready shows what we can use.

Washing: What Care Settings Need To Know

Uniforms in care get washed hard, so it's worth planning for. NHS England's uniform guidance says to wash at the highest temperature the fabric allows, and describes a ten-minute wash at 60 degrees as enough to remove almost all micro-organisms. It also says employers should provide enough uniforms for a clean set every shift. It's written for the NHS, but it's a handy reference for any care setting, so check it against your own policy.

Hot water is harder on any logo, and embroidery is the toughest of our methods, so if your team needs hot washes, tell us and we'll suggest the best option. The garment's care label has the final say, and our washing and care guide covers the rest.

Easy To Order, Easy To Reorder

There's no minimum order and no set-up fee, and we digitise your logo for free and keep it on file, so matching kit for a new starter is quick to arrange. Most jobs are ready in 48 hours. Volume discounts apply automatically (5% off from 10 items, 10% off from 25 and 15% off from 50), and a free trade account takes a further 10% off if you order regularly. You can see examples of our embroidery on our Our Work page.

Questions

What should care home and nursery staff wear?

Most teams choose a tunic or polo for the shift, with a T-shirt for warmer days and a sweatshirt or fleece for cooler corridors and outdoor breaks. We can put your logo on all of it.

Can you embroider or print my logo on tunics and polos?

Yes. We put your logo on tunics, polos, T-shirts, sweatshirts and fleeces, all done in-house. Send us your logo and we will suggest embroidery or vinyl, whichever suits your design and the fabric best.

Do the ready-made care kits include my logo?

Yes. The prices shown include a logo on the front of every item, and the fleece is always embroidered. If you would like embroidery throughout, a back print or a different mix, tell us what you need and we will quote it.

Can I wash my team's uniforms hot?

NHS England's uniform guidance says to wash at the highest temperature the fabric allows, and describes a ten-minute wash at 60 degrees as enough to remove almost all micro-organisms. Always follow the garment's care label and your own policy. Hot water is harder on any logo, and embroidery is the toughest of our methods, so tell us if you need hot washes and we will suggest the best option.

Do you take small orders for a nursery or a single practice?

Yes. There is no minimum order, no set-up fee and no charge for digitising your logo. Volume discounts then apply automatically: 5% off from 10 items, 10% off from 25 and 15% off from 50.

Can I reorder matching kit when a new member of staff joins?

Yes. We keep your digitised logo and artwork on file free of charge, so matching kit for a new starter is quick to arrange. Most jobs are ready in 48 hours.
